Plagiarism Policy

The Journal of Excellence in Management Sciences (JEMs) enforces a strict zero-tolerance policy against plagiarism, in line with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines. All submitted manuscripts are screened using Turnitin to ensure originality and maintain academic integrity.

Screening:

• Every submission undergoes a plagiarism check before entering the peer review process.
• The editorial team reviews similarity reports to identify any overlap with previously published material.

Acceptable Limits:

• The total similarity index must be less than 15% overall, and similarity from any single source must not exceed 5%.
• Minor overlaps (e.g., references, common methodologies) are assessed with editorial discretion, ensuring they do not compromise originality.

Handling Suspected Plagiarism:

• Manuscripts exceeding the acceptable similarity thresholds will be returned to authors for revision or may be rejected outright.
• Cases of suspected plagiarism are investigated according to COPE guidelines. Proven plagiarism before publication leads to rejection; corrective actions such as Retraction Notices will be issued transparently if identified after publication.

Author Responsibility:

• Authors must ensure their work is original and properly cite all sources.

By submitting to JEMs, authors confirm that their manuscript is free from plagiarism, has not been published elsewhere, and is not under consideration by another journal.
