Copyright ownership

All articles published in the Journal of Excellence in Management Sciences (JEMS) remain the intellectual property of their author(s). Authors retain full copyright and moral rights in their work.

JEMS does not claim copyright ownership. By submitting and publishing with JEMS, authors grant the journal and SMARCONS Publications a non-exclusive, worldwide right to publish, reproduce, distribute, archive, index, and make the work publicly available in electronic and print formats.

Each published article displays a clear copyright notice, such as:
© [Year] The Author(s).

Licensing terms (Open Access)

All content in JEMS is published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). This license permits anyone to share, copy, redistribute, adapt, and build upon the work for any purpose (including commercial use), provided proper credit is given to the author(s) and the original source.

The journal displays the CC BY 4.0 license. on:

  • the article webpage, and
  • the PDF (front page), including the license name and link.

Author rights

Authors are free to:

  • share the published article immediately on repositories, websites, and academic platforms;
  • reuse their content in books, teaching, theses, presentations, and future works;
  • distribute the article without embargo, provided appropriate citation and attribution are maintained.

Journal and platform rights

JEMS and SMARCONS Publications may:

  • host and preserve the article;
  • distribute it via journal platforms and scholarly databases;
  • promote the work through academic and digital channels;
  • deposit article metadata for indexing and long-term discoverability.

These rights do not restrict any reuse already permitted by CC BY 4.0.

Third-party content and permissions

If a manuscript includes third-party material (e.g., figures, tables, images, instruments, scales, datasets), the author(s) must ensure that:

  • they have permission to reuse it, or it is used under a license compatible with CC BY 4.0; and
  • proper attribution/credit lines are included in the manuscript.

If third-party content cannot legally be shared under open licensing, the material must be removed or replaced prior to acceptance.

Policy updates

This policy may be updated to reflect developments in open access standards, copyright law, and publishing best practices. Updates will be posted on the journal website with the effective date.
