Digital Archiving Policy

The Journal of Excellence in Business Administration (JEBA), published by SMARCONS Publisher, is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, accessibility, and availability of its scholarly content. JEBA maintains digital archiving and preservation arrangements to ensure that published articles remain accessible to authors, readers, researchers, and indexing agencies in the event of website failure, technical disruption, or discontinuation of the journal or publisher.

JEBA uses the following digital archiving and preservation platforms:

Internet Archive

JEBA deposits its published articles, along with relevant article metadata, in the Internet Archive. This supports long-term public access and preservation of published content. The Internet Archive provides a secure and distributed digital repository that helps ensure continued access to scholarly content in the event of technical failure, website unavailability, or discontinuation of the journal website.

PKP Preservation Network

JEBA uses Open Journal Systems and supports digital preservation through the PKP Preservation Network. The PKP Preservation Network is designed to preserve OJS journal content through a decentralized preservation model based on the LOCKSS approach, which supports long-term preservation and access to scholarly content.

Through this preservation arrangement, JEBA aims to ensure that published articles are securely preserved and remain available for future scholarly use.

File Formats and Metadata Preservation

JEBA stores and preserves articles in widely supported digital formats, including PDF. Article metadata is maintained according to recognized metadata standards to support indexing, retrieval, citation, interoperability, and long-term discoverability.

The editorial team of JEBA ensures that published articles and related metadata are deposited in archiving and preservation platforms in a timely and accurate manner. Archived materials are periodically reviewed to ensure the integrity, accessibility, and accuracy of preserved content.

Policy Availability and Review

This Digital Archiving and Preservation Policy is publicly available on the journal website for authors, readers, reviewers, indexing agencies, and other stakeholders. The policy is reviewed periodically and updated when necessary to reflect developments in digital preservation standards, publishing technologies, and indexing requirements.

Digital Object Identifier Policy

The Journal of Excellence in Business Administration (JEBA) assigns Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) to published articles to support persistent identification, stable linking, citation tracking, discoverability, and indexing.

Each published article receives a unique DOI upon publication, where applicable. The DOI is included in the article metadata, unique article landing page, and article PDF. Authors and readers are encouraged to use the DOI when citing, sharing, or referencing published articles.

JEBA registers DOIs and deposits article metadata through Crossref. The journal maintains unique article landing pages and updates Crossref metadata when article URLs or key metadata are changed. This practice helps ensure that DOI links remain accurate, stable, and functional over time.

Author Self-Archiving Policy

JEBA supports author self-archiving in accordance with the principles of open access publishing. Authors are permitted to deposit, share, and reuse their work without embargo and without requesting prior permission from the journal.

Authors may share the following versions of their manuscript:

  • Submitted version

  • Accepted version

  • Published version of record

Authors may deposit these versions in institutional repositories, subject-specific repositories, personal websites, academic networking platforms, funder repositories, and other lawful public platforms.

All articles published in JEBA are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). This license permits users to copy, share, distribute, reproduce, adapt, and build upon the work in any medium or format, including for commercial purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s), the source is acknowledged, a link to the license is provided, and any changes made to the work are indicated.

JEBA does not apply any embargo period or charge any fee for self-archiving. Authors retain copyright of their published work and may reuse their article in future publications, books, theses, dissertations, conference presentations, teaching materials, and other scholarly or professional works.

Recommended self-archiving locations include:

  • Institutional repositories

  • Subject-specific repositories, such as RePEc, SSRN, or EconStor

  • Personal or institutional webpages

  • Academic networking platforms, such as ResearchGate, with the understanding that these platforms support sharing but are not formal digital preservation services

Self-archiving helps authors comply with funder and institutional requirements and increases the visibility, accessibility, and impact of their published research.
